Friday, Dec. 3: The Middleburg Business and Professional Association will host a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Caroling begins at 5 p.m., behind the Pink Box Visitor Center at 12 North Madison St. Refreshments will also be served. Mayor Bridge Littleton will lead the countdown. Saturday, Dec 4: Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at 8 a.m. at the Middleburg Community Charter School with pancakes and pictures. More at https://www.mccspto.org/breakfast-with-santa The Middleburg Hunt Review takes to the streets, creating a spectacular sight as approximately 150 horses, riders in hunting attire and dozens of hounds come through the town at 11 a.m. The Middleburg Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m. as spectators line the sidewalks along Washington Street (Route 50) to watch a floays, bands, soldiers and dogs. Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5: Holiday Open House at Long Branch Historical House and Farm in Millwood. Saturday Dec 11 and Sunday Dec 12 from noon to 5 p.m. Open Holiday House at Long Branch Historic House and Farm. A display of local garden club holiday decorations, outdoor lights, Christmas carols, a wreath making class at 1pm on Dec 12 by Rachel’s Bloomers, raffle items and donation ‘wishing trees’. Admission is free at this lovely location at 830 Long Branch Lane, Boyce VA, The property features a 200-year-old historic home on 400 preserved acres with marvelous gardens and breathtaking views. The Galleries at Long Branch started operation in the summer of 2018 and is rapidly becoming a premier art exhibition venue for the Shenandoah Valley. Long Branch House and Farm also operates a Horse Retirement Program and hosts a wide variety of programs that seek to educate and celebrate the heritage and lifestyle of Virginians living in the upper Shenandoah Valley.
