Thursday, Dec. 2 from 2-5 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.: “The Twelve Days of Christmas” Come see the spectacular and fragrant Middleburg Garden Club greens and flower show with holiday gifts and wreaths in their holiday bazaar. Details:

Friday, Dec. 3: The Middleburg Business and Professional Association will host a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. Caroling begins at 5 p.m., behind the Pink Box Visitor Center at 12 North Madison St. Refreshments will also be served. Mayor Bridge Littleton will lead the countdown. Mark your calendar for a family night out on Sat Dec 4 for Movie at the Meadow 6 p.m. at Great Meadow free movie The Elf.

Saturday, Dec 4: Breakfast with Santa and Mrs. Claus at 8 a.m. at the Middleburg Community Charter School with pancakes and pictures. More at The Middleburg Hunt Review takes to the streets, creating a spectacular sight as approximately 150 horses, riders in hunting attire and dozens of hounds come through the town at 11 a.m. The Middleburg Christmas Parade begins at 2 p.m. as spectators line the sidewalks along Washington Street (Route 50) to watch a floays, bands, soldiers and dogs. Advance-only purchase is $30 - $50 per vehicle. Visit There are no tickets sold that day.

Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5: Holiday Open House at Long Branch Historical House and Farm in Millwood. The historic house and farm will be open with interior Garden Club decorations, exterior holiday lights, caroling, wreath-making class, gift basket raffles and wishing trees. and 540-837-1856.

Get in the Christmas Spirit with The Shenandoah University Conservation Choir

Mark your calendar for Sunday Dec 12 at 4 p.m. for A Christmas Concert with the Blue Ridge Singers at Trinity Episcopal Church in Upperville all are welcome. 540-592-3343.

Saturday Dec 11 and Sunday Dec 12 from noon to 5 p.m. Open Holiday House at Long Branch Historic House and Farm. A display of local garden club holiday decorations, outdoor lights, Christmas carols, a wreath making class at 1pm on Dec 12 by Rachel’s Bloomers, raffle items and donation ‘wishing trees’. Admission is free at this lovely location at 830 Long Branch Lane, Boyce VA, The property features a 200-year-old historic home on 400 preserved acres with marvelous gardens and breathtaking views. The Galleries at Long Branch started operation in the summer of 2018 and is rapidly becoming a premier art exhibition venue for the Shenandoah Valley. Long Branch House and Farm also operates a Horse Retirement Program and hosts a wide variety of programs that seek to educate and celebrate the heritage and lifestyle of Virginians living in the upper Shenandoah Valley. The Arts in The Plains @ the Space at Grace in The Plains

Comfort and joy with Paragon Philharmonia for A Baroque Christmas on Sunday Dec. 12 at 5 p.m. will include the music of Mach, Telemann and Corelli with a collaboration with the Grace Church Choir and excerpts from Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’

Then on Thursday Dec 16 at 6 p.m. the Piedmont Film club will present ‘Rebel Hearts’ which shows the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary of 1960s LA, as they fight for equality, their livelihoods and their freedom against an all-powerful cardinal who tries to keep them in their place.
